afpop Silver Jubilee Coffee Mornings

Two coffee mornings by afpop, Portugal’s association for foreign residents, are taking place on November 28 and 29 in venues in the east and west of the Algarve.

The free-to-attend events are being sponsored by Imperius Asset Management, whose director in Iberia, Matthew Krystman, will give a short informal talk about the Eurozone debt crisis.

The coffee morning on the 28th will be held at Pedras da Rainha (Bowls Club Bar) in Cabanas, just east of Tavira, at 10.30am and on the 29th at Portal do Infante in Lagos Marina, also at 10.30am.

During his talk, Matthew Krystman will briefly cover the history of the EU, causes of the sovereign debt crisis, the Portuguese, Irish and Greek bailouts and the outlook for the Eurozone. He will be available for questions afterwards.

In celebration of afpop’s recent 25th anniversary (see page 15), there will be special afpop membership deals for new members that join during the coffee mornings – joint membership for the price of a single membership, saving €15; and past members whose membership has lapsed for more than 12 months will be able to re-join on the same two for one basis and will not have to pay the joining fee of €35.
