The Algarve is stepping onto the international stage this week as it takes part in IFTM Top Resa, the largest professional tourism fair in France, held from this Tuesday to Thursday (September 23-25) in Paris.
The regional tourism board, joining the national stand of Turismo de Portugal, aims to “establish the Algarve as a leading destination for the French market” while highlighting a wider range of experiences designed to attract visitors throughout the year.
France remains one of the Algarve’s most important source markets, and the fair offers an opportunity not only to showcase the region’s diversity but also to strengthen relationships with tour operators and travel agents from around the world. Alongside Turismo do Algarve, four associated companies will be present, each helping to underline the “best of what the destination has to offer.”
While the Algarve is widely known for its sun and beaches, the delegation will use the Paris event to spotlight other facets of the region, from nature and active tourism to gastronomy, wine, events, and business travel.
“The French market has shown notable receptiveness to the products that set us apart the most,” said Algarve tourism chief André Gomes in a statement. “IFTM Top Resa is the perfect stage to present lesser-known sides of the Algarve, such as the inland areas, mountain landscapes, cultural heritage, and authentic flavours,” he said.
“This event is an unmissable opportunity to showcase our latest novelties and keep the French market interested in our region,” Gomes added.
With more than 30,000 industry professionals, 1,400 brands, and 170 international destinations represented each year, IFTM Top Resa is widely considered the biggest professional tourism fair in France.
