Algarve to be represented by 24 startups at Web Summit 2025

Four recognised with “Impact Startup” label for social, economic and environmental innovation

A total of 24 startups from the Algarve have been selected to represent the region at Web Summit Lisbon 2025, Europe’s leading technology and entrepreneurship event, as part of an initiative to boost the Algarve’s innovation ecosystem.

The companies will form part of the Startup Island Algarve Tech Hub, a collective exhibition space where they will pitch their projects, meet investors and connect with global media. The participation is coordinated under the Algarve Empreende 2026 programme, led by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and co-funded by the Algarve 2030 Regional Programme.

Among the 24 selected companies, four Algarve startups have been awarded the “Impact Startup” label by Web Summit, which recognises ventures aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and dedicated to solving social, environmental or economic challenges.

The four distinguished companies are:

  • Invisible CFO, a fintech platform combining AI and human expertise to support sustainable financial management for SMEs.
  • AuroraMed, a healthtech firm developing AI-driven tools for clinical decision support and personalised medicine.
  • ExpressTec, a University of Algarve spin-off creating RNA-based cancer diagnostics powered by artificial intelligence.
  • FarmAssist, a digital pharmacy service providing home deliveries, prescription renewals, appointments and monitoring of therapeutic plans.

For ANJE, the Algarve Empreende 2026 project is about building lasting foundations for a regional innovation economy. The programme offers training, acceleration, mentorship and internationalisation support to emerging entrepreneurs and startups, helping them scale their ideas from the south of Portugal to global markets.

“More than a showcase, this participation (in the Web Summit 2025) is a strong step forward in the Algarve Empreende 2026’s mission to support the creation of innovative companies, strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial capacity and link the local ecosystem to international innovation networks,” ANJE says.

Web Summit Lisbon will take place from November 10 to 13 at MEO Arena and the Lisbon Exhibition & Congress Centre. Tickets are still available on the event’s website.
