If you love to draw and express the world around you through art, then Tavira has the perfect challenge for you. From November 1 to 26, the Municipal Museum of Tavira is organising ‘Mediterranean Landscapes’, a creative challenge that aims to use people’s talents to promote the municipality’s “cultural and heritage identity”.
Participants are encouraged to illustrate the beauty and character of Tavira’s Mediterranean environment, from the region’s typical vegetation, sea, and architecture to its churches, rural scenery, and rich biodiversity. The initiative aims to spark creativity, highlight local talent, and promote appreciation for the cultural and natural heritage of Tavira, organisers say.
Drawings can be submitted in person at the Tavira Municipal Museum reception from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10am and 1pm and 2pm and 5pm, until November 26.
Each participant will receive a small gift upon submission, and the artworks can later be collected or donated to the museum’s collection.
On December 4, the date marking the UNESCO recognition of the Mediterranean Diet as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, all submitted drawings will be featured on the museum’s website and the municipality’s social media pages.
