Bullfights in Portugal and Spain

Dear Editor,

Please, please help Portugal and Spain put an end to this appalling cruelty for good!

How can we blame other countries, some of them third world countries, for their record on animal rights when we allow these things to happen in our Europen Union?

And let us not forget either the slaughter of black bears to make caps for the Queen’s guards, fox hunting, the conditions of transport of farm animals, the unfortunate lab animals, etc., etc.

How can you help?

You can help by:

• Signing all the petitions online

• Not going to bullfights when visiting Portugal and Spain

• Advising your family, friends, work colleagues, etc, to do likewise

• Telling tour operators that you will boycott them if bullfighting is included in their programmes

• Writing to the European Parliament, the European President, the President of the European Commission, etc.

• Writing to your European MPs

• Writing to your own MPs

• Writing to the Portuguese and Spanish Ambassadors in your respective countries (don’t forget that tourism is crucial to both countries).

• Writing to all newspapers asking them to write about this subject.

• Writing to all TV channels asking them to run programmes on this subject.

• Telling the Vatican and the Catholic Church to stop welcoming bullfighters and to educate people in their duties to the animals.
