You published my email in regard to the proposed Scut charges.
The second letter that you published did not agree with my suggestion to increase the general road tax here, as a simpler, fairer way.
I would just like to say that I drive a Renault Clio 1.2, which does practically run on fresh air, which is no bad thing.
When I taxed it last December, I paid roughly 31 euros. I have found a website, which might interest your readers.
It gives a quick way of calculating the tax on a similar vehicle in the UK.
For a Renault Clio 1.2, 5 doors, 2001 to 2008, it came out as 125 pounds per year, which is more than four times what I paid six or seven months ago here.The site is www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax.
