FIRES OF Portugal was created by Geoff Waller in July, 2000.
He moved to the Algarve in the 1980s from Sheffield with City & Guilds Heating Engineer certificates and his hands-on approach has helped build up a small company with a big reputation.
Geoff’s tried and tested range includes the Fogo Montanha inset wood burning and gas fires and the imported Villager and Arrow free standing wood burning and gas fires.
Villager and Arrow, both small family run companies, have recently merged and Fires of Portugal are their agent in the Algarve.
“Being a small family business, we pride ourselves on every part of the operation of supplying and fitting our fires and stoves,” said Geoff Waller, who is involved in the quoting, advising on best options, fitting and later the servicing of the fires.
Recommendations
New business is generated mainly from personal recommendations and advertising in local newspapers such as The Resident.
“Personal service, honesty and pride in a job well done make us different from the rest. Our prices are extremely competitive, with the highest standard of workmanship. We work across the Algarve and the Alentejo. However, we do supply fires to everyone who enquires,” said Geoff Waller.
Small works can also be undertaken by his builder and any servicing on existing fires is also carried out – including glass fitting, web fitting and retouch paint work.
Fires of Portugal also offer a chimney sweeping service.
