Oceano Infinito opens on Friday, July 18
Friday July 18 sees the opening of a lyrical exhibition by Ukrainian artist Svitlana Grymalyuk who has been living in Portugal since the year 2000.
The mother of Roman Grymalyuk – the powerhouse behind the Oranta association that equips buses and 4x4s for the Ukrainian front line – Svitlana has been painting and creating all through her life, studying first in Kosovo, at the Technical School of Popular Art, from which she emerged as a master painter. She went on to become a member of the Painters’ Association of Ukraine, working at the Artistic Production factory where her skills extended to ceramics and carpentry.
Arriving in Portugal, her inspiration changed. Being so close to the ocean encouraged a “creative aura”, while trips to the monuments of Lisbon and museums in Europe impelled her further.
The exhibition opens at the IPDJ (Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude) at 7pm.
