International GT Open season kicks off in Portimão

Full weekend of racing at Algarve circuit features GTs, single-seaters and seven races

The International GT Open returns this weekend to open its 2026 season at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, with 29 cars confirmed on the grid.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday (April 18-19), the event continues a busy month of motorsport at the circuit and promises a packed programme, with three different series and a total of seven races across the two days.

The headline races will be the two International GT Open contests, featuring cars from eight different manufacturers competing on the 15-turn track.

Also on the bill are races from the GT Cup Europe and the Euroformula Open, adding to what organisers say will be a competitive and action-filled weekend, with experienced drivers battling throughout.

Tickets are available in two options: a €15 pass that includes paddock access, available for purchase at the circuit’s karting facility, or free entry to the main grandstand in exchange for a food donation, which will go towards the Banco Alimentar (Food Bank).
