German television producer Denny Schönemann has chosen the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf Resort in Lagos as the main location for a new music and lifestyle TV programme dedicated to Schlager, a popular music genre in German-speaking countries.
Schönemann, known for producing television shows and promotional films across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, is spending a week in the region filming performances, interviews, and lifestyle segments. The footage will later be broadcast on German TV and online platforms, reaching a potential audience of millions.
“Our goal is not only to create stunning images for music fans in Germany, but also to show the beauty and hospitality of Portugal,” says Schönemann in a statement to the press. “The Algarve offers an extraordinary backdrop – from the Atlantic coast to exclusive resorts like Palmares. We want to share that uniqueness with our viewers.”
Schönemann runs a website – www.starpromotion.net – which showcases professional video services for artists, brands, and travel destinations. He also founded www.lieblingsschlager.ch, a platform designed to help hotels and resorts learn how to collaborate with audiovisual productions aimed at German-speaking audiences, boosting their visibility and appeal in that key market.
With this latest production in Lagos, Schönemann says he is showing how international TV and music projects can directly promote tourism in Portugal. According to the producer, the benefits are clear: hotels gain top-tier video content and exposure to a German-speaking audience with strong spending power.
The filming was supported by the Algarve Tourism Bureau, whose executive director, Hugo Nascimento, helped coordinate local arrangements.
