Golfing for good with the Algarve Resident

Pick up your clubs and head to the fairways at Morgado Golf near Portimão on September 8 for a day of enjoyable golf while helping to raise funds for Madrugada, a charity which supports people with life-limiting illnesses.

For just 35 Euros per person, including a buggy, participants will be able to make the most of the championship golf course set between the Monchique mountains and the beaches of Portimão, while raising money for Madrugada to go towards the creation of a day care and residential centre.

Currently there is no hospice care available in the Algarve and the founder and president of Madrugada, Alison Blair, hopes that a dedicated centre will be able to provide a complementary service operating in partnership with medical treatment for people suffering from life limiting illnesses.

It is estimated that to be able to build the planned day care and residential centre, the charity will need funding of three million Euros and would also require a piece of land with appropriate access in a peaceful area.

Already many fundraising events have taken place for the Luz-based charity. However, funds are still needed if the ultimate goal of building the centre is to be reached and by taking part in the charity golf tournament at Morgado Golf, golfers will be able to have a great day on the greens while supporting this initiative.

During the Algarve Resident Charity Golf Tournament, take the opportunity to enjoy this Texas Scramble competition and join either as an individual or as an existing team of four and compete for prizes to be awarded after the tournament.

Meanwhile, an optional barbecue will be available for participants and guests costing 18 Euros per person, giving golfers the chance to catch up with other teams who participated in the tournament.

Book now to guarantee your place in the charity golf tournament.
