Hotels in Lisbon and Porto “abruptly” slashed their room rates in September, according to the Associação de Hotelaria de Portugal, which says it is concerned about the situation.
In the capital of Portugal the rate per available hotel room averaged €70.61, representing a drop of 15.77%, while per room occupied it stood at €82.14 ( down 15%), when compared with September last year.
In Porto, the average rate per available room dropped by 11.51% and per occupied room by 5.16%, standing at €57.33.
