The Vale da Pipa Residence development in the municipality of Lagoa has taken a significant step forward following the signing of a cooperation protocol that resolves a major technical obstacle linked to wastewater treatment.
The agreement, signed on Thursday, January 8, brings together the developer Carvoeiro Branco, the Algarve Hydrographic Region Administration (ARH) and Lagoa Municipal Council. It establishes the “technical solution” required to reinforce the public sanitation system, removing the final barrier to the project’s progression.
Developed in partnership with Teixeira, Pinto & Soares, S.A., Vale da Pipa Residence will comprise 304 apartments and 20 plots for detached housing, addressing the long-standing shortage of housing supply in the Algarve.
With the technical issue now resolved, the project can move into its final approval phase, after which infrastructure works are expected to begin. Marketing of the development will follow at a later stage.
According to Carvoeiro Branco, the Vale da Pipa Residence is the largest affordable housing project under development in the western Algarve. Developers report strong market interest, with more than 250 expressions of interest already registered, underlining the growing demand for affordable housing in the region.
The development will be located on the outskirts of Lagoa, “close to schools, services, and with quick access to the A22 motorway”.
