Lisbon is set to turn green again as the city gears up for its third consecutive St. Patrick’s Day street celebrations. The festivities, open to everyone, will feature a themed parade through the city and continue later in local bars.
The parade will take place on Saturday, March 21, starting at around 3.30pm at Avenida da Liberdade before making its way to Praça do Comércio. Along the streets, participants will don traditional green attire, bringing the spirit of Ireland to the Portuguese capital.
After the parade, the celebrations will move to bars across Bairro Alto and Cais Sodré. Venues taking part include O Purista, O’Gilins Irish Pub, Trobadores — Taberna Medieval, Cheers, The Couch Sports Bar, Bar Liverpool, The Corner, and Rossio Gardens.
“Prepare yourself for a night full of surprise acts, live music, and a roaming band that will bring the full energy of an Irish celebration,” says Guinness, the official beer of the event for several years. “Between songs, photos, and memorable moments, all you need to do is pick your bar, raise a Guinness, and keep celebrating St. Patrick’s Day as tradition demands.”
