The new managing director of Vinci Energies Portugal, Fernando Rodrigues, says that electricity networks, industrial decarbonisation, data centres, cybersecurity and electric mobility are all areas providing potential growth opportunities for VINCI Portugal to 2030.
In statements to the business daily Negócios, Rodrigues — who took up the leadership of the company on January 1, 2026 — identified these areas as strategic opportunities for the national operation, in a context of strong intersection between digital and energy.
“Our portfolio is very diverse. Whether in digital, energy — and often in the inevitable intersection of both — we are an unavoidable agent of transformation,” he stated.
Without specifying quantitative targets for Portugal, Fernando Rodrigues admitted that growth should occur organically and also through acquisitions, supported by the group’s “financial health”.
“We always pursue, by the nature of our business, sustainable growth, either organically or through carefully evaluated acquisitions,” he affirmed.
The new executive will oversee operations in over 20 countries from Portugal and maintains its commitment to zero carbon by 2050 and reductions in direct emissions by 2030.
