New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is considering making a bid to buy the Financial Times Group, via privately-held financial news provider Bloomberg L.P., if current owner Pearson puts it up for sale. The US magnate is an avid reader of the Financial Times, and also wants 50% of The Economist, another title owned by Pearson. Thompson Reuters may also be in the frame to buy the publications.
