Frederico Reis has been named as the man suspected of shooting dead young mother of two Edite Silva in the early hours of last Monday.
The 36-year-old is understood to have been ‘obsessed’ with Edite – and incapable of accepting the end of their relationship.
According to reports, he was arrested by PJ police who caught up with him after he drove away from the capital, heading for Faro, where he apparently has relatives.
His victim lived in Avenida de Ceuta, near the carpark where she was shot.
Reis is being held in preventive custody.
