Some of the world’s most promising young footballers will be travelling to the Algarve soon for the U14 Portimão International Cup, set to take place between November 14 and 16.
The tournament brings together elite teams from around the world, such as Liverpool FC, Parma Calcio 1913, Everton FC, Crystal Palace FC, RC Celta Vigo, RC Deportivo La Coruña, Derby County FC, Sporting CP, SL Benfica and Vitória SC, as well as local clubs Portimonense Sporting Clube and Mexilhoeira Grande Futebol Clube. All in all, 35 clubs from 20 countries will be taking part.

Taking place at the Major David Neto Training Centre and the Mexilhoeira Grande Sports Complex, the event promises to attract national and international scouts, eager to witness the talent of the new footballing generations. As organisers point out, the tournament gives youngsters a chance to play against high-level opponents while also offering a valuable experience in “cultural and sporting exchange.”
The tournament is expected to have a strong economic impact on the local community, with around 2,000 players, coaches, families and fans travelling to the region.
Tickets are priced at €5 per day or €12 for a three-day pass, available at the Major David Neto Training Centre. Children under 12 enter for free.
The event is organised by Portimonense Sporting Clube and Live Adventure, with the support of the Portimão municipal council.
