Portugal Telecom registered €189.9 million in profit in the first nine months of 2012, a drop of 37.3% compared to the same period last year. Despite the drop, in September the company reached the five million-client mark, which represents a year-on-year growth of fixed retail customers of 6.3%, thanks to cable TV operator Meo.
