Slade’s famous Christmas hit Merry Christmas Everybody could have been listened to by 42 per cent of the world’s population.
The organisation that collects royalties on behalf of composers and songwriters, PRS for Music, revealed that over 47 countries worldwide have listened to the song this year.
These figures show that up to three billion people could have heard the Christmas classic.
The Christmas song has become a firm favourite over the festive season and is popular for Christmas parties and shopping centres for getting people in the mood.
