The Amigos de Música announce two highly anticipated concerts this April featuring the young Italian pianist Leonardo Pierdomenico, one of the most exciting talents of the new generation of virtuosos.
Praised by Gramophone for his “highly developed technique and cultivated sound, adaptable to a variety of affects, wedded to imagination and scrupulous musicality,” Pierdomenico is set to deliver performances that promise both technical brilliance and deep artistic insight.
The first concert will take place on Tuesday, April 21, with compositions evocating “The Sound of Light”, by Rameaux, Debussy, and Scriabin. The second concert, on Thursday, April 23, will explore “Chopin’s Legacy”, with the pianist playing works by Chopin, Debussy, Szymanowski, and Scriabin.
Both concerts will be held in the Auditorium of Os Agostos, near Santa Bárbara de Nexe, with doors opening at 6.15pm and performances beginning at 7pm. Guests are invited to enjoy wine, fruit juices, and canapés, available for self-service before the concert and during the interval. Full program details are available at www.amigosdemusica.org
These concerts offer a rare opportunity to experience one of today’s most gifted pianists in an intimate setting, blending virtuosic skill with profound musical insight.
Born in Pescara, Italy, Leonardo Pierdomenico studied at the Conservatorio Luisa D’Annunzio and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Benedetto Lupo. He first drew international attention as a semi-finalist at the 2016 Queen Elisabeth Competition and later as the winner of the Jury Prize at the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. At just 18, he captured the prestigious Premio Venezia. Since then, he has performed with leading orchestras across Europe, the US, and Asia, earning acclaim for his expressive interpretations and technical mastery.
Tickets for the concerts, including refreshments, are available for a €30 donation per person for both Amigos guests and non-members, payable in advance via bank transfer. Reservations can be made by emailing reservasconcertos@gmail.com
