St Vincent’s Christmas Fayre

By Margaret Brown

Another warm sunny day at the beginning of Advent and a blessing on Luz Church’s annual Christmas Fayre at Almadena on November 26.

Although reduced in size, the quality of everything on show was of the best.

With a steady flow of customers, goods were selling fast. As usual, the mouth watering array of cakes, pies and buns were a big draw together with ranks of assorted home made jams, a specialty of two dedicated members of Luz congregation.

While our Readers Eckart Flöether and Bob Kelly were manning stalls, Church Warden Joyce Daffey provided a well patronized coffee/lunch bar with assistant Jean Kelly.

Father Haynes and Padre Zé Manuel, now recovered from his recent operation, were there to encourage and support the Church of Nossa Senhora da Luz.

Because St. Vincent’s is entirely self funding these events make it possible to have regular Anglican Church services across the Algarve with two Chaplains and several Readers.

Not forgetting our grateful thanks to Bishop Manuel of Faro who permits us to use the Church.
