Three suspects at large after late-night knife attack in Algarve town

A violent knife attack late Saturday night (September 6) left two young people injured near the popular Rua da Oura bar strip in Albufeira.

The incident, which occurred around 11.38pm, involved a Portuguese man and a Brazilian woman, both aged 21. According to Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manhã , the man sustained serious injuries while the woman suffered lighter wounds. Both were taken to Faro Hospital for treatment.

Three suspects who fled the scene and remain at large have been identified by PJ criminal police.

Emergency teams were called to the scene, including Albufeira firefighters, GNR military police, a VMER medical team, and the Portuguese Red Cross.
