The municipal council of Albufeira will hold two public sessions on Friday (April 17) to present its new Municipal Tourist Tax Platform, now available online.
The sessions will take place at the municipal auditorium in Albufeira, with the first starting at 9.30am and the second at 2pm. Entry is free, and attendees can choose either session.
According to the municipality, the platform is already live and allows businesses and organisations to register and manage their tourist tax obligations online.
After submitting a registration request, applications will be reviewed by the council. Only once validation is complete will establishments be able to register and operate fully on the platform.
Entities registering with a corporate tax number must provide a permanent certificate, while individual applicants are required to submit proof of address, such as a utility bill.
The new system is aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, increasing transparency and making it easier for tourism businesses and local accommodation providers to meet legal requirements.
It also enables the submission of self-assessment declarations in a more practical and efficient way.
The municipality says the sessions are intended to ensure that all those involved understand how the platform works and how to use it.
Anyone interested can attend by appearing at the auditorium at the scheduled times.
