Loulé’s very own João Palma has emerged victorious from the 71st Coupe Mondiale, the Worldwide Accordion Competition in Lithuania, after finishing in first place in the category of ‘Junior Virtuoso’.

Palma became the first Portuguese accordionist to win the competition in this category. João Frade and João Barradas had already won but in different categories.

The event is the oldest accordion competition in the world and featured over 100 participants from over 20 countries.
