Algarve Classic Cars brings over 100 vintage automobiles to southern Portugal

One of Europe’s most prestigious classic car events is rolling back into the Algarve this weekend. From Friday to Sunday (July 11 to 13), the 32nd edition of Algarve Classic Cars will bring over 100 vintage automobiles to the region’s scenic roads.

Organised by Portugal Classic in collaboration with the Portuguese Club of Vintage Cars (CPAA), the event has become a hallmark of summer in the Algarve, attracting enthusiasts from across Europe. This year’s edition marks the return of the event to Olhão and Faro, which haven’t been a part of the beloved rally for many years, explains event chairman Luís Brito. “Their inclusion in this event will allow participants to enjoy a boat ride in the Ria Formosa, adding even more cultural and touristic value to the event,” he added.

The event begins on Thursday, July 11, at Vilamoura Marina, with the opening of the secretariat at 11am. The first stage – the Murganheira Stage – begins at 7pm, with a short city circuit around the Vilamoura Casino, ending around 7.30pm.

The second day kicks off at 9.30am with the Falconeri Stage. Participants head from Vilamoura through Quarteira, tackling the thrilling Cerro de São Miguel Special Stage at 10.20am before arriving in Olhão at 11am, where the above-mentioned Ria Formosa boat tour awaits. The rally resumes at 3.30pm with the Centro Porsche Faro Stage, pausing in São Brás de Alportel and continuing through Loulé at 5.30pm, before returning to Vilamoura at 6.20pm for a relaxed evening at the Casino.
