The Algarve Firefighters Federation is calling on the local community to help support their colleagues fighting relentless wildfires in northern and central Portugal.
Until Friday, 22 August, residents can drop off half-litre bottles of water and energy bars at fire stations across the Algarve. Every contribution counts in helping firefighters stay strong on the front lines, the federation points out.
On the following Monday, all donations will be sent to the Guarda Firefighters, who will distribute them to the various brigades tirelessly battling the blazes. The effort is being coordinated closely with the Guarda Firefighters Federation to ensure supplies reach those who need them most.
