The Algarve recently hosted a memorable event for classic car enthusiasts: the largest gathering of Mini-Mokes ever held in Portugal, bringing together no less than 25 examples of this iconic vehicle. The event, promoted by the dynamic Mini-Moke Algarve group, attracted enthusiasts from all over the country to Faro and featured a major surprise: the presence of the crew from the television series Wheeler Dealers, known in Portugal as “Jewel on Wheels.”
Mike Brewer and Elvis Priestley, the faces of the famous Discovery Channel show, were on hand to capture every detail of this unique gathering. During the event, the presenters spoke with several Mini-Moke owners, exploring the stories behind each vehicle – some meticulously restored, others preserved with the charm and patina of time.
For participants and visitors, it was an opportunity to share experiences, exchange restoration tips, and celebrate the free spirit that Mini-Mokes have always represented. The gathering took place in a relaxed atmosphere, typical of southern Portugal, with plenty of sunshine, good humour, and, of course, roaring classic engines.
