Anke Punt Bach brings Evolution to Lagoa

Local artist will unveil her latest exhibition of 23 watercolour-on-wood paintings

The municipal library of Lagoa is opening its doors to a new exhibition by local artist Anke Punt Bach, whose show Evolution brings 23 delicate watercolour-on-wood paintings to the library atrium from Friday, December 5 to January 23, 2026.

“Evolution shows my journey to discover new techniques and ways to express,” says Anke. Her watercolour paintings on wood have what she calls a “soft touch” and a semi-abstract style that gently pulls the viewer into a different world.

Anke Punt Bach is a dedicated artist and art teacher with a background rich in international experience. She began her formal training at the Art Academy in London, where she developed her skills and continues to practice her art daily. “Not a day went by without a brush, pen, paper or reading about the world of art,” the artist says.

After London, her journey continued through teaching, organising exhibitions and taking part in them. In 2019, she and her family made the Algarve their home. Since then, she has shown her work in Carvoeiro, Lagoa, Armação de Pêra and Portimão.

“I love to teach and inspire other people,” she says. In Papelaria Arco Íris, at the Sudoeste Retail Park in Alcantarilha, she teaches twice a week, sharing her passion and techniques with others.

The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled for 5pm on Friday, December 5.
