The Rotary Club of Silves continues to enjoy a busy November.
The British Consul, Clive Jewell, was a welcome guest speaker in the middle of November.
Clive entertained members with a humorous and informative talk on his past work in the tourist industry.
This led smoothly on to his work as the British Consul to the Algarve, a role which Clive has embraced with great enthusiasm and professionalism.
Last week RC Silves was delighted to welcome District Governor José Coelho, along with Assistant District Governor Silvério Guerreiro.
Many topics were covered during DG José’s visit. Isabel Flores, President of RC Silves, confirmed that the club was planning many activities, some of them to raise money to purchase items needed for the young and the elderly and some of them to offer hands-on help in the community to those who are in need.
DG José spoke of his commitment to all clubs in his area and of the “great opportunity” offered to all those who are Rotarians in 2013 with the International Conference for Rotarians being held in Lisbon.
