Carvoeiro to host dramatic finale of National Footvolley Championship

Decisive matches to be played in Carvoeiro, Lagoa

Carvoeiro’s iconic beach will again be the setting for the Final of the 2025 National Footvolley Championship, now celebrating its 20th edition. The decisive stage of the competition will take place on September 13 and 14, promising a weekend of decisive and entertaining action.

Organised by the National Footvolley Federation with the support of the municipal council of Lagoa and the parish union of Lagoa and Carvoeiro, the event brings the country’s best athletes, men and women alike, to the Algarve coast for a showdown that will crown this year’s champions.

For those unfamiliar with the sport, footvolley is a blend of beach volleyball and football. Played on a sand court with a volleyball net, the game follows volleyball rules but with one key twist: players cannot use their hands or arms. Instead, they rely on other body parts, such as their feet, chest, head, and shoulders to control and return the ball. The result is a fast-paced, acrobatic sport that has been growing in popularity.

The action kicks off on Saturday, September 13, with matches scheduled from 9am to 8pm, and continues on Sunday, September 14, from 10am to 6pm.

For fans who cannot be there in person, the final matches will also be broadcast on A Bola TV and RTP2.
