Faro Airport will carry out a full-scale emergency drill on Tuesday (November 18), running from 11.30am to 3pm.
The exercise will not affect normal airport operations, but drivers should expect traffic restrictions along the Faro Beach road, including temporary closures and signposted diversions managed by the authorities.
Drivers using the affected routes are advised to plan ahead and follow on-site instructions.
The training forms part of the airport’s biennial emergency-preparedness programme, bringing together internal teams and external response entities. Its aim is to test procedures, strengthen coordination between all involved agencies, and ensure the safety of those who work in or visit the airport.
This will be the third exercise of its kind in just over one month at the airport.
