Faro Airport prepares for another emergency drill

The emergency drill will affect traffic on the Praia de Faro road

Faro Airport will carry out yet another emergency training exercise this Friday, October 24, between 3.00pm and 6.00pm, as part of its annual safety and preparedness plan.

While the drill will not affect regular flight operations, there will be temporary traffic restrictions on the Praia de Faro road, including short interruptions and diversions that will be clearly signposted, according to a joint statement by Portugal’s airport authority (ANA) and airport operator Vinci.

The exercise brings together airport staff and external emergency teams to test coordination and improve response procedures in crisis situations, ensuring the safety of passengers, staff and visitors.

A similar exercise was held recently on Sunday, October 13.
