After two years out of the charts, jazz singer Jamie Cullum is back with a brand new album.
Entitled The Pursuit, named after Nancy Milford’s classic novel The Pursuit of Love, the album features an eclectic mix of modern influences with jazz standards.
All the songs on The Pursuit began life at his studio as well as in his kitchen (!) before recording moved to Los Angeles for three months over the summer of 2008.
There Jamie worked with producer Greg Wells and some of the work from his kitchen actually made it to the final product.
Recording in LA meant changing the techniques and routines Jamie had developed on his previous records.
The album will be released on Verve Records on March 2, 2010.
