PJ police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man whose body was found in the coastal beauty spot of João d’Arens in Portimão on Monday afternoon.
The cause of the death is unknown, the national maritime authority (AMN) said in a statement.
Authorities were alerted at 2.10pm after the body was found by a passer-by, AMN added.
The man’s body was taken to the local morgue.
