Marco Bezzecchi claimed a dominant MotoGP victory in the Portuguese Grand Prix today at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão.
The Italian rider led from the first lap, setting an impressive pace throughout the race. Alex Márquez, in second place, endured an intense battle with Pedro Acosta during the first laps and managed to get the better of him once again, after winning the Sprint race.
It was not yet time for Spanish prodigy Pedro Acosta to win a Grand Prix in the premier class. The KTM rider finished in third position. Completing the Top 5 were Fermín Aldeguer and Brad Binder, fourth and fifth respectively, already far behind the top three finishers.
Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Yamaha) finished his last race in Portimão in 14th place.
Oliveira said he was pleased with his performance this Sunday at the Portuguese Grand Prix, achieving his ‘realistic goal’ of finishing the penultimate race of the MotoGP World Championship “in the points”.
The 30-year-old rider competed in his last MotoGP race on Portuguese soil in Portimão before moving to the Superbike championship in 2026.
The next race in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, the last of 22, is the Valencian Community Grand Prix, which will take place from November 14 to 16 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, in Spain.
