Dear Editor, I was in Portugal in March. I was mugged on my last night. I was 50 yards away from my hotel in Vilamoura. I was set upon by four lads.
The first one came running at me and punched me in the face. I then turned around to see two of them behind me punching kicking and stamping on me.
A fourth person came out of bushes, stamped on my head and broke my jaw. I then thought I was going to get raped.
Two of them knelt on both of my hands whilst the other two took my jeans which had my wallet, camera, cash and then stole my watch and stole my trainers.
I found the police quite helpful. They got in touch with my hotel to tell the rest of my group of eight where I was.
And then got me medical help which cost me €22, even though I had no cash wallet or credit cards.
