The Two Rachael’s unveil a new community event, Preloved Family Market, for the whole family
A fresh new community event is coming to the Algarve this weekend, promising fun for the whole family and a chance to give back.
“The Two Rachael’s Preloved Family Market” will make its debut on Sunday (June 15) from 11am to 2pm at Aspire International School (AIS) in Almancil, offering a free-entry day out packed with activities and stalls to discover.
The event is the brainchild of Rachael Muir and Rachael Bowler – two expat mums living in the Algarve who share a “passion for sustainability, second-hand treasures, and keeping great stuff out of landfill”. After “one too many no-shows on Facebook Marketplace”, they decided there had to be a better way to buy and sell preloved items. That idea turned into The Two Rachael’s Pre-Loved Events, which intend to be a feel-good space for families to sell, shop, connect and support local small businesses.
“The event will be a vibrant community gathering filled with local traders, families and charities along with entertainment, food, and activities for all ages with many stalls run by independent businesses and families, including several that are child-friendly,” the organisers say.
“We’re also helping families in need by collecting food and hygiene products for the local food bank and clothing for local charities such as the women’s refuge,” they add.
The launch event will feature face painting, a bouncy castle, live music, pizza, and even a family photographer, making it a perfect day out for all ages. There will also be an English book exchange and a donation station for those looking to pass on items they no longer need.
