Pinetrees Riding Centre in Almancil is celebrating 40 years in business on Sunday, July 27, and all are invited to join a special party – the first event starts at 5pm.
The party will start off with the popular Fancy Dress class on the theme “Portugal” – historical, sporting, gastronomic, touristic – use your imagination! Dress up yourself, your horse, your dog. If you are riding, remember to incorporate your riding hat.
For the Horse and Hound event, there will be four classes based on the horse and riders’ ability. After the horse and rider have ridden their round, the dog and handler will complete a little doggy course. Both rounds are against the clock.
“Come and celebrate with a slice of birthday cake from Pastelaria Charlotte!” says Beverley Gibbons, founder of Pinetrees Riding Centre.
Entries need to be made in advance, so contact Pinetrees on WhatsApp 919 363 190, or email bevpinetrees@gmail.com – organisers can then pair you up with a horse or dog partner if you do not have one.
There is no charge for spectators and supporters, but there will be a raffle for a chance to win prizes.
Proceeds from the competitors (€10), and the raffle, will be divided between São Francisco Dogs Home and Alerta, the association which supports the Voluntary Fire Brigade.
SandyBlue is sponsoring the riding centre again with rosettes, trophies, and goody bags.
