A new fashion brand specifically targeting petite women has been launched by a Portuguese entrepreneur in the UK.
P’tit Affair was created by Azores-born Susana Dias, who grew up in Faial and lived nearly a decade in Lisbon before moving to the UK. Created for women 5’3’’ (160cm) and under, the brand offers “timeless, functional pieces in classic British style”, with all items designed in the UK and “ethically produced in Portugal.”

The idea came from her own frustration of struggling to find clothes for herself. “Finding clothes that fit and flatter petite women, without a trip to the seamstress, is virtually impossible. P’tit Affair was born from that frustration, and from the desire to create classic, practical fashion made to last,” Susana Dias explains. “Being able to produce in Portugal, where quality craftsmanship is so highly valued, makes me incredibly proud.”
Unlike many “petite” ranges that simply shrink down standard collections, P’tit Affair is designed from scratch to suit petite proportions. The debut collection – now available for pre-order – includes a midi dress in two colours, tailored shorts, and a classic T-shirt, all produced in Portugal using premium materials and responsible manufacturing practices.
The brand has also launched the Saudade Tote Bag, a foldable and functional accessory inspired by the Portuguese concept of saudade (the feeling of missing something or someone). The bag is designed for everyone, not just petite women, Dias adds.
With plans to expand across Europe by the end of 2025, Dias hopes her brand will give petite women everywhere a better choice when it comes to style and fit.
