In a talk organised by the Algarve History Association (AHA), Anthony Collis will take his audience on an epic voyage of sailing round the world. The first part of this talk will take place on Monday, April 9 in the Municipal Library of Tavira and on Tuesday, April 10 in the Municipal Library of Lagoa, both commencing at 6pm.
Anthony and Jan set sail in their 50-foot schooner Caro from Bembridge, Isle of Wight, in 1998 and returned in 2002. They visited 52 countries en route.
This talk will cover the highs and lows of the voyage to Australia via the Caribbean Sea, the Panama Canal and 8000 miles of the Pacific Ocean.
In the second part of his talk, Anthony will relate the return journey on Monday, May 7 in the Municipal Library of Tavira and on Tuesday, May 8 in the Municipal Library Lagoa, both at 6pm.
There is no fee for AHA talks although organisers welcome voluntary monetary contributions.
