Newly promoted Portimonense football team has demolished an unsafe 1,800 seat grandstand.
Work on a replacement facility, which will have seats for 3,000 spectators, has started and will cost around 800,000 Euros.
In addition, the Estádio Municipal de Portimão is going to be redeveloped and the playing surface of the stadium enlarged, all at a total cost of an additional one million Euros.
All the work is set for completion by the end of October.
