It’s over a month away, but tickets for Lagoa’s FATACIL fair are already for sale
Lagoa’s flagship summer event FATACIL is returning between August 22 and 31 and tickets are already for sale, the municipal council announced today.
The fair, which takes place during the peak summer season and attracts around 20,000 people per day, is one of the Algarve’s biggest summer events, which helps explain why tickets are going on sales so early. It is described as the “biggest event south of the Tejo River” and features a wide selection of concerts, business exhibitions, equestrian events, handicraft, food stalls and much more.
Before purchasing tickets digitally became more common, the festival’s popularity would lead to huge queues at the entrances of the municipal fairground. Now, with tickets being sold online, as well as in person at different outlets, these long queues have mostly become a thing of the past.
Tickets can be bought online at fatacil.bol.pt, or at several physical locations including CTT post offices, Fnac, Worten, the Balcão Único in Lagoa, and at the fair itself. A regular day ticket costs €5, a family ticket (for a group) costs €16, and a full 10-day pass is available for €30. Children aged 12 and under can enter for free if they show a valid ID.
The fair will host around 700 exhibitors from all over the country, showcasing local crafts, food products, businesses, and more. There will also be three stages with live performances, a special Fun Zone for children, horse shows, street entertainment, and plenty of traditional Algarve food and drinks to enjoy. According to the local council, the goal of the event is to bring together everything that makes Lagoa and the Algarve special, all in one place.
This year’s musical line-up features several top Portuguese acts. Fernando Daniel will be the first headlining performer to take the main stage on August 22, followed by an 80’s party, Festa M80, on August 23, Badoxa on August 24, Nininho Vaz Maia on August 25, Wet Bed Gang on August 26, Van Zee on August 27, Quim Barreiros on August 28, Matias Damásio on August 29, Delfins on August 30, and Mariza on August 31.
