As many as 26 “oriental passengers” had to be transported to hospital late yesterday afternoon after the tour bus they were travelling in toppled over onto a grass verge on the A6 motorway near Montemor-o-Novo (Évora).
The circumstances of the accident are unclear.
The bus appears to have been taking the group of 38 on a trip to Lisbon, possibly from Spain.
Reports say the bus had Spanish number plates.
Traffic was cut off as the injured were transported to hospitals, none seriously hurt.
Seventeen passengers are believed to have suffered “no injuries at all”
