TRYP by Wyndham Lisboa Caparica Mar has reopened following a €4 million renovation aimed at modernising the hotel and improving the guest experience. The redesign was carried out with the goal of highlighting the hotel’s coastal setting, sustainability goals, and TRYP’s refreshed brand identity, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts says in a statement to the press.
The updates were officially unveiled on July 5 at a sunset event attended by 130 travel professionals and hospitality partners. Guests explored the renovated spaces while enjoying drinks at the Sky Bar.
“The new look and feel draws inspiration from TRYP by Wyndham’s refreshed brand standards and core ethos and motto, ‘powered by the city.’ The use of blues, whites, and warm wood tones reflect a trendy, comfortable atmosphere, inspired by the hotel’s connection to the sea and nature,” Wyndham says in a statement. “Sustainable principles also influenced the design to reduce energy and water consumption, resulting in Wyndham’s Green Key certification. The hotel installed LED lighting throughout the premises, improved thermal comfort in the meeting rooms, renewed major equipment including air conditioning and hot water systems and selected materials inspired by the surrounding nature, with a strong maritime theme.”

The renovation included a series of refurbishments, including a new look lobby with a redesigned reception area. “Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by a dramatic, dark ceiling, paired against light flooring and walls to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Lighting is at the centre of the new design with striking ceiling spotlights, a warm-lit, aesthetic reception desk and low-hanging soft lighting in the lobby area for a chilled, social ambience,” according to the statement.
Wyndham has also unveiled upgraded dining at the hotel. The Paparica and Horizonte restaurants have been restyled with coastal-inspired interiors and offer menus focused on local Portuguese ingredients, led by Chef Luís Romão.
Meanwhile, all 354 guest rooms have been refreshed with brighter, more spacious layouts, updated materials, and options for families and solo travellers.
Other key amenities, such as the Sky Bar and outdoor pool, now include pergolas for shade and comfort, with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Common areas at the hotel have also been adapted for work, socialising, and relaxation throughout the day.
Sustainability was central to the renovation. The hotel now uses LED lighting, more efficient heating and cooling systems, and eco-friendly materials – efforts which contributed to the hotel’s Green Key certification.
