In 2027, the Douro will host the Brussels World Wine Competition, bringing together experts and wine producers worldwide to promote the Portuguese wine region, boost tourism and create business opportunities.
In a statement today, president of the Douro Intermunicipal Community (CIM), Luís Machado, said: “We are delighted to announce that the Douro will host the Brussels World Wine Competition in 2027. The candidature was chosen based on recognising the absolute uniqueness of the region and the technical conditions that the proposal presented. This is a unique opportunity to show the world the excellence of our wines and the beauty of our region.”
