Algarve Evolution has launched ‘Startup Scale Journey’, a new series of events aimed at shining the spotlight on the Algarve’s most promising startups as they aim for global markets.
Each session takes participants inside a startup’s workspace – from labs to offices – offering a close-up look at their story, milestones, and future ambitions.
“The initiative aims to amplify the Algarve’s growing innovation momentum and connect founders with the visibility and partnerships they need to succeed,” Algarve Evolution, a private, non-profit association dedicated to “strengthening the Algarve’s innovation ecosystem,” says in a statement.
“With Startup Scale Journey, our goal is to shine a light on the talent and ambition growing in the Algarve, and to connect startups with the partners and visibility they need to scale,” says António Guerreiro, Director at Algarve Evolution. “This initiative demonstrates that the Algarve is not only a place of quality of life but also a serious hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.”
The first edition features expressTEC, a trailblazing biotechnology company developing the world’s first RNA-based test to match patients with the most effective targeted treatments.
“Participating in the Startup Scale Journey is an opportunity to showcase to the region and the country the talent and innovation we are developing in the Algarve. It is also a way to inspire other women, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to pursue their projects, knowing there is an ecosystem that can support them,” said Ana-Teresa Maia, CEO of expressTEC.
The first session will take place on Thursday, September 11 at CRIA, the entrepreneurship division at the University of the Algarve’s Gambelas campus in Faro. Registration is free but mandatory.
