Details are only just coming through of an ‘American tourist’ knifed to death in Cascais what is being described as an ‘attempted robbery’ by PSP police.
The victim was in the company of another friend, also male, who suffered serious injuries in the incident that took place in the early hours of this morning.
A statement put out by Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) says: “One of the young men died at the scene and the other suffered injuries to his face and arms and was taken to hospital”.
The attack was allegedly carried out by three suspects who ‘fled in a car’.
INEM medical rescue called to the scene tried to revive the victim, but according to reports “the stab wounds were deep and in vital areas”.
The survivor has been taken to Lisbon’s Santa Maria Hospital while PJ Judicial Police have launched an investigation.
