The body of a man was found this morning floating at the mouth of the Douro river in Porto, not far from the Douro Marina in Afurada, where a French citizen disappeared 10 days ago.
“There are strong indications that this will be the French man who disappeared on November 20 after falling from a sailing boat at the Douro Marina,” Douro ports captain Rui Lampreia has told Lusa.
At the time of the French man’s disappearance, searches took place for three days before being called off.
The man, aged 62, was reported missing by his wife who apparently saw him in the water before he ‘disappeared’.
The body will now be taken to the local coroner’s office for autopsy.
