A MAGISTRATE and two policemen met with Magalhães Meneses, prosecutor for the Public Ministry, at Portimão court yesterday (Thursday) to ask for the secrecy act to not be lifted on some aspects of the Madeleine McCann case.
Stuart Prior, a Superintendent from Leicestershire police in the UK, was one of the three who met with Meneses, according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, reportedly claiming that DNA evidence collected by British police needed to be investigated further.
The request was denied by the court in Portimão.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese Lawyer for the McCanns, Carlos Pinto Abreu, told news agency Lusa that the only goal the McCanns had with the case was to “discover what happened to Madeleine”.
He added that the outcome of the investigation is now not the most important aim but the investigative process.
